Privacy Policy
The short version
- We collect no data about you. Not a single data type.
- The app makes no network requests. It has no networking capability at all.
- Your photos are processed entirely on your device and never uploaded, transmitted or shared.
- There is no account, no sign-up, no advertising and no analytics.
- The app works exactly the same in Airplane Mode.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Photo Date Fix ("the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use it on your iPhone or iPad. It applies to the app only, and not to any other product or service.
Photo Date Fix is a fully offline utility that edits EXIF capture timestamps in your own photo library. Because it is designed to work without any network access, there is no server that could receive your information, and none exists.
2. Information we do not collect
We do not collect, request, store, sell, share or transmit any of the following:
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers or any other contact details
- Account credentials, user IDs or device identifiers
- Your photos, their contents, their metadata, their file names or their locations
- Location data of any kind
- Usage data, session data, feature interactions or in-app events
- Crash logs, performance traces, diagnostics or stack traces
- Advertising identifiers or any data used for advertising
The app ships with no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no attribution SDK and no crash-reporting SDK. There is no third-party tracking code of any kind bundled with it.
3. Photo library access
Photo Date Fix asks for your photo library permission for two specific reasons:

All processing happens locally on your device. Your photos are never uploaded anywhere, never analysed on a server, and never shared with us or with anyone else. The app does not request camera, microphone, location, contacts, Bluetooth or any other permission.
Your original photos are never modified. Every processed photo is written out as a separate, newly created asset.
4. No network access
Photo Date Fix does not connect to the internet. It contains no networking code, no backend service and no remote configuration. We do not operate a server that receives data from the app.
We state this in the app's Privacy Manifest, which declares an empty list of collected data types and confirms that no tracking takes place. You can verify the network behaviour yourself by enabling Airplane Mode: every feature continues to work identically.
The only actions that ever leave the app are the ones you trigger explicitly yourself, such as tapping a button that opens the Photos app, the system Settings app, or your email app. Those are handled by iOS, not by us, and they transmit nothing about you to us.
5. Data stored on your device
A small amount of information is stored locally on your device only, so the app remembers your preferences between launches:
- Your chosen app language and appearance (light, dark or system)
- The fallback time used when a file name contains only a date
- The output quality setting for saved copies
This information never leaves your device, is not readable by us, and is removed when you delete the app.
While a task is running, the app creates temporary working files to build each verified copy. These temporary files are removed automatically as soon as the copy is saved, and any leftovers are cleaned up by iOS when the app is closed or deleted.
6. No advertising, no tracking, no analytics
There are no advertisements in the app, no advertising identifiers, and no cross-app or cross-site tracking. We do not build profiles, we do not run experiments on you, and we do not measure your behaviour. The app contains no A/B testing framework.
There is no in-app purchase and no subscription, so no payment or billing information is ever handled by the app. Any purchase is processed entirely by Apple.
7. Apple services
Because Photo Date Fix is distributed through the App Store, Apple may collect information related to your download, purchase and app usage under its own privacy policy. We do not receive that information, and we have no way to identify you from it. Apple's handling of your data is governed solely by Apple's Privacy Policy.
You may also choose to share crash or diagnostic data with Apple in your iOS settings. If you do, that data goes to Apple and is not accessible to us. Photo Date Fix itself never generates or sends crash reports.
8. Children's privacy
Photo Date Fix is a general-purpose photo utility. It is not directed at children, and because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children. No data is gathered that could identify a child or any other user.
9. Your rights and your control
Because we do not collect or hold any personal data, there is nothing for us to look up, export, correct or delete on your behalf. Data protection rights such as access, portability and erasure are satisfied by design.
You remain in full control of your own data at all times:
- Every processed photo is a copy that you can review and delete from your library.
- Your originals are untouched throughout.
- Revoke photo library access at any time in iOS Settings, under Photo Date Fix.
- Delete the app at any time to remove all locally stored preferences.
10. Security
Because nothing is transmitted and no personal data is stored, there is no database of yours for anyone to breach. Processing happens in the app's own sandbox, and each output copy is verified before it is saved to your library.
11. Changes to this policy
If the app's behaviour ever changes in a way that affects privacy, we will update this page and revise the effective date above before releasing the change. We will never introduce analytics, tracking, advertising or a network connection into an app that was sold to you on the promise that it has none.
